"A Masterpiece of Matrimony"

The Brides

This charming showcase was lovingly curated by Judy Kronin, owner of Judy's Doll Studio. It features 40 breathtaking brides—each with her own unique story. Some represent historical figures dressed in replicas of their wedding gowns, others are beloved celebrities, and some are inspired creations from talented artists who beautifully reflect diverse styles and cultures. Together, they form a stunning celebration of love, fashion, and artistry.

Judy Kronin has been a passionate doll collector for over 30 years. With a collection of more than 2,000 dolls, she’s turned her lifelong hobby into an educational experience. A retired school superintendent, Judy uses her collection to teach, inspire, and spark joy. Her themed exhibits have been featured at the Paterson Museum (NJ), Suffolk Historical Society (NY), Nassau County Museum (NY), and even at the North Carolina Country Club Hotel in Pinehurst.

We hope you enjoy the tour—and don’t forget to share it with a friend who loves dolls or history as much as we do!

Meet Judy

Welcome, Judy! Can you tell us a little about Judy’s Doll Studio and what makes it unique?

Absolutely! Judy’s Doll Studio is a virtual museum dedicated to celebrating the art of doll collecting. With over 2,000 dolls in my collection, I’ve spent more than three decades curating an incredible array of artist dolls, antique dolls, ethnic dolls, Barbies, and even restored discarded dolls. Each one has a story to tell, making this collection a rich tapestry of history and culture.

How did your journey into doll collecting begin?

It all started unexpectedly in 1992 with a visit to a doll shop at Southshore Mall in Bayshore, NY. I purchased a W.C. Fields Effanbee Doll from the Legend Series, and that single moment ignited a passion that has lasted a lifetime. What began as a casual interest quickly evolved into a dedicated pursuit of rare and unique dolls.

What kind of dolls can people expect to see in your collection?

The collection is incredibly diverse! From artist-designed and antique dolls to ethnic dolls, Barbies, and even one-of-a-kind pieces, there’s something for everyone. I also take great care in restoring forgotten and discarded dolls, breathing new life into them so they can be appreciated once more.
